Lorenza Rimassa is Associate Professor of Medical Oncology at Humanitas University and Head of HepatoPancreatoBiliary Oncology at IRCCS Humanitas Research Hospital in Milan, Italy.
She is Treasurer of the International Liver Cancer Association (ILCA), and member of the ILCA Executive Committee and Governing Board, Co-chair of the EORTC Gastrointestinal Tract Cancer Group - Hepatobiliary and Neuroendocrine Tumors Task Force, holds the position of Special Expert - International Trials Europe on the Hepatobiliary Task Force of the National Cancer Institute (NCI, Bethesda, MD, US) Gastrointestinal Steering Committee, and is member of the COST Action CA18122 (Working Group). She is an author of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Guideline on Biliary Tract Cancer (2022), of the Italian Multi-Society Guideline on HCC, of ESMO, American Society of Clinical Oncology, European Association for the Study of the Liver, ILCA, and of Italian Association of Medical Oncology.
She is Principal Investigator and member of the steering/data monitoring committee for phase 1–3 clinical/translational trials of new drugs for GI cancers, in particular hepatocellular carcinoma, and biliary tract cancer. She is member of the organizing and scientific committee for national and international congresses.
She has authored approximately 200 articles on the development of new GI cancer treatments/biomarkers. She is Associate Editor for Journal of Hepatology and for Liver Cancer International, Section Editor-in-Chief for the Disease Biomarker Section of Journal of Personalized Medicine, and an editorial board member of several journals including Liver International, Therapeutic Advances in Medical Oncology, Cancers, and Journal of Hepatocellular Carcinoma.
