Christelle de la Fouchardière, MD, is a medical oncologist working in Marseille (France), in the regional comprehensive cancer Center Institut Paoli-Calmettes since April 2023. She trained in medical oncology at the University of Montpellier and holds a Master’s degree in biological sciences (Paris V University /Gustave Roussy Institute). She began as fellow physician in Centre Leon Berard (Lyon, France) and then has held the position of head of digestive oncology unit until 2023. Her activity is centered around digestive oncology and rare endocrine tumours. She also has developed translational research dedicated to gastric, colorectal and pancreatic cancers with the Cancer Research Center of Lyon (CRCL) (TGFB and Pancreatic Cancer - UMR INSERM 1052 - CNRS 5286).
Christelle de la Fouchardière has published more than 100 scientific articles, with papers for which she was lead author, focusing on the management and treatment of digestive cancers especially gastro-esophageal and pancreatic cancers, biliary tract carcinomas, MSI tumors, and thyroid or adrenal tumors.
Christelle de la Fouchardière is the current president of the Unicancer Gastro-Intestinal group (UCGI) and co-chair of the PRODIGE group. She is also the secretary of the EORTC Endocrine Tumor Group (EnTG).
